My name is Riley, and I'm a writer and literature teacher from Queensland, Australia. I spend my days surrounded by stories — either sharing them with students in the classroom or quietly building my own on the side.
Growing up in a small town meant that I learned a quiet style of living, and that has really guided the way I pay attention to the smaller details of the world around me. I still find myself most alive when I'm outside — in the garden, at the beach, or somewhere the light is doing something interesting. A lot of my best ideas have come from those unhurried moments. The works of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien have shaped my imagination and voice, adding a richness and depth that lies underneath all my writing.
Atmosphere and mood are the foundation of my stories. I want my writing to be carried with you long after you've closed the book — where the world and the characters linger. Pour yourself a cup of tea, settle in, and enjoy the stories.
